The Glen
The Glen is the Regimental newsletter of The Calgary Highlanders, published under the auspices of Regimental HQ. It began in 1939 as a weekly paper and went to war with the 1st Battalion Calgary Highlanders. Publication ceased at the war’s end in 1945 before being revived as a monthly newspaper from 1954 to 1959, when publication again ceased.
From 1975 to 2009 The Glen was published on an annual basis in newspaper format but in 2011 became a digital newsletter, issued several times a year. A shorter paper copy is also produced in limited numbers for those members of the Regimental Association without internet access and for distribution at Calgary’s Military Museums.
