SUMMARY:St. Julien's Parade 2019
DESCRIPTION:St. Julien’s Day Parade will be held on Saturday\, 27 April 2019. Calgary Highlanders will march in formation from Mewata Armoury via 8th Ave to the Cathedral Church of the Redeemer for a church service. Following the service\, the unit will then march over to city hall for a brief parade service and inspection by the Mayor or City representative. On the completion of the parade service\, Calgary Highlanders will march back to Mewata using 8th Avenue.

DESCRIPTION:For serving soldiers only\, in traditional style the Officers and Senior NCOs of the Regiment thank the junior soldiers for another year of hard work and training by serving Christmas Dinner to the troops.  The youngest soldier in the Regiment enjoys the privilege of becoming Commanding Officer for a day\, while the eldest Corporal becomes RSM for a day. Where possible\, these junior ranks will exchange DEU jackets with their senior counter-parts\, which is often a highlight.\nPresentations and awards are also part of the festivities.

It is being sent to more than 2\,000 addresses\, including international Scottish societies\, ceilidh bands\, arts groups\, social groups\, sports clubs\, publics institutions\, museums\, schools\, universities\, parishes\, whisky societies\, communities\, masonic lodges\, charities\, trade associations\, and businesses which hosted Burns suppers or Burns Nights in recent years. \nTo invite you  to participate in a unique\, virtual\, and global celebration of Burns Night in the coming weeks. \nDue to the current Covid-19 pandemic\, thousands of events around the world —including Burns suppers— are likely to be cancelled or limited this winter. Yet this does not mean Burns Night 2021 has to become a non-event. In fact\, we’d like to offer you a unique way to cheer away the gloom whilst sharing Burns’s message of universal love and friendship. \nWhatever you do around Burns Night —whether you attend a Burns supper or must stay confined at home with a ‘dram’ of whisky and a plate of haggis— we’re inviting you to share at least one picture of your night on social media using the hashtag #VirtualBurnsNight. This can be a picture of your meal\, of your dress\, of a Burns performance\, of your family or anything that fits the Burns Night theme. DESCRIPTION:The Hamilton Gault Memorial Fund is again putting on an exciting adventure in support of mental health and raising money for the treatment of Occupational Stress Injury. \nVisit the Website for more information \n\n\n\nOn April 13\, 2025\, participants from The Military Museums\, PPCLI\, and Calgary communities\, will descend into Rat’s Nest Cave near Canmore\, Alberta. Doing so\, these adventurers will raise vital funds for and awareness about post-traumatic stress disorder and its devastating effects on individuals and families. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nCaves are dark\, otherworldly environments. Most people have not had the experience of total darkness\, moving through difficult terrain. \nIt’s an unfamiliar world. Like many of those who suffer from occupational stress injuries\, they too have found themselves in an unfamiliar place\, struggling to navigate the darkness. \nAt over 4km long\, Rat’s Nest Cave is one of the longest caves in Canada and there are no lights\, handrails or permanent lights. \n\nParticipants are raising funds to participate in this adventure and experience this challenging environment. Each has committed to raising funds by taking pledges to support their participation in this adventure.
